Nick & Johnny Red Hot combines the clear taste of red chili with a robust tobacco flavor, as well as cinnamon, cloves and a hint of orange to produce a strong flavor. With a nicotine content of 15mg/g, this is an extra strong snus that is likely to be favored by the most seasoned of users as this range averages around 40% more nicotine than most snus brands.

The red hot variety comes in a large and original portion. This means the pouches are moist and there is a greater surface area between the gum and the sachet to provide a quicker release of flavor and nicotine. The sachets are plumper than slimmer versions, which makes them more visible under the lip.

Indifferent

I am indifferent about this snus. I too was expecting more, given the flavor description. There's not much beyond a base tobacco/herb flavor and scent. Do not buy if you're looking for a "cinnamon-flavored snus". The cinnamon spice is just a hint that gradually fills your mouth. It does contribute to a bit more heat in the lip/mouth, if you enjoy that sensation. I must say, I did not especially enjoy it, but I didn't dislike it. Portions are extra large (1.1g) and although I am accustomed to slim portions, the fullness in the lip felt good. Product quality is good; as expected from Swedish Match.

Pretty Good!

It's hard to describe, but the "Red Hot" aspect of this snus is more of a sensation and less of a flavor. The snus is tobacco forward with some hints of cinnamon, but I cannot really taste the red chili. That being said, there is definitely a tingling sensation that accompanies this snus, and I quite enjoy it. As someone else mentioned, its a similar tingle to some of the mint snuses. The bags are large and a little rough, but the nicotine hit offsets any issues with the bag. The material isn't terrible, I just would like it to be a bit softer. These tend to get fairly juicy, as they are not white portions. The nicotine is the perfect amount for me, strong enough to get a nice nicotine hit, but not so strong that it's too much. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys tobacco forward snuses, but is looking for something a little different. The flavor is subtle, but very enjoyable. If you aren't a fan of the tingling sensation, I would try a single can or avoid entirely. It's not the strongest tingle, but it's certainly there.

Tobacco Foward

I ended up loving this stuff, though it's not what I expected.  This is a tobacco forward snus, with a hint of cinnamon in the nose and on the palate, and the heat from the cinnamon and chili.  The cinnamon flavor is very faint.  Does give off some nice heat in the lip, similar to how a strong mint gives a cooling feeling.  Nice change up from my usual General extra strong.

lacks flavor

I was really let down by this product.  Decided to try it after hearing such good things about the brand, and I really like the flavor description, but I can barely taste the cinnamon, or chilli..  was hoping for something that had some bite to it, but was really let down.  The non tobacco flavor is subtle at best, you can make out cinnamon notes, but a distinct flavor isn't there.
